Frick

My name is Colin Frick and I’m a 4th year UGA student pursuing a B.A. in Entertainment and Media Studies, Minor in Film Studies, and Certificate in New Media. I’ve been creating content since elementary school, filming YouTube videos with friends and editing them on iMovie. After acting in middle school theater, I shifted my focus to directing. In high school, I was Broadcast Editor of the Odyssey Media Group while studying on-set film production at Athens Technical College.

At UGA, I joined the Entertainment Media Industries club where I’ve volunteered as a cast and crew member for other student’s productions. Working as a gaffer, sound recordist and cinematographer prepared me to direct my debut student film: “Forgot”. I wrote the script, directed the cast and crew, and used continuity editing to create a short film that demonstrates my filmmaking ability. Simultaneously, I grew an affection for commercial advertising, social media marketing, and brand management. These skills would help me grow my private business, Coach Colin’s Swim Club.

After gaining over 200 Facebook followers, I interned with MarketPros Responsive Solutions in the summer of 2023 as a Video Editor, creating short form content for 3 clients. This fall, I served as the Communications intern for UGA’s Miller Learning Center where I grew their Instagram following by 10% in 3 months while producing a monthly newsletter. This Spring, I will support the Universities’ office of Undergraduate Admissions as their Video Editor and Social Media intern and serve as a Videographer for On Trend Creative Studios. Upon graduating in May of 2024, I plan to join a company making innovative videography content. I believe my experiences make me and asset to any organization.
